Foundations & Floor
The base of our garden room studio consists of about 4 inches of type 1 and approximately 6 inches of concrete with fibres, complemented by a waterproof membrane. Our meticulous process ensures each foundation is precisely squared and leveled. This meticulous approach guarantees a robust and stable platform for your garden room studio.
The flooring system comprises five layers atop a sturdy concrete base, including a moisture barrier, thermal insulation, 18mm Tongue & Groove moisture-resistant floorboards, acoustic underlay, and 100% waterproof Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) flooring. The final touch is provided by pre-painted MDF skirting boards for a polished finish.
Wall & Insulation
The construction of our walls involves a multi-layered wall section that includes cladding, timber laths, external air ventilation, a waterproof breathable membrane, structural timbers, insulation, internal air ventilation, plasterboard, and a finished skim. Our breathable waterproof membrane acts as a one-way valve, facilitating the escape of moisture from the building. Furthermore, all our Garden rooms feature a dual air ventilation system integrated into the structure, promoting breathability, preventing condensation, and enhancing the overall u-values.
Our garden rooms boast top-of-the-line insulation, featuring 100mm insulation in the walls and roof voids, complemented by efficient air ventilation. Additionally, we incorporate around 50mm insulation within the floor. This exceptional insulation design ensures outstanding U-values, setting our garden rooms as the best in the UK market. Roof Construction
The roofing structure is assembled with five layers, including EPDM, 18mm tongue & groove boards, C16 graded timbers, 100mm insulation, plasterboard, and a final skim finish. Our standard practice involves incorporating a 1 in 60 fall from the front to the back, enhancing water runoff efficiency. To complement this design, black guttering and downpipes are expertly fitted to the rear elevation, ensuring optimal drainage performance.
Doors & Windows
